On April 4th, 2019 the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was informed about an interaction between a bear and a dog in the area of Strathclair Park. The dog has been treated for its injuries.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is investigating the incident. However, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry remind citizens to be vigilant as bears are coming out of hibernation. As per City by-law, pets are required to be on leash, unless in an enclosed area.
A beautiful boxer for sure! Glad he has a caring and responsible owner because many don’t! I wish vets would have a bit of a discount in these cases…but maybe there was one..
