Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On April 22nd, 2019 officers with the Investigation Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Serviced arrested 39 year old Cheristy Syrette of no fixed address on outstanding warrants.

On April 22nd, 2019 police observed the accused in the downtown area. Officers confirmed the accused was wanted on outstanding warrants and took her into custody. Once at the Police Services Building, the accused was found to be in possession of a small amount of white powder believed to be cocaine.

She is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of fail to appear in court, one count of breach of recognizance, one count of theft and three counts of breach of probation. She was held for bail court.

Male Charged with Impaired Driving

On April 21st, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year old Tyler Corbett of March Street for impaired driving.

In the early morning hours of April 21st, 2019 police responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival officers observed the accused behind the wheel of a car with damage to the front end as well as guardrails on Wellington Street East.

When officers spoke to the accused they noticed he was slurring his speech, had glassy eyes and there was a strong odour of alcohol on his breath. The accused was taken into custody and later registered a fail when providing a breath sample.

He is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of blood alcohol over 80. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 27th, 2019.

 

Duo Charged with Break and Enter

On April 22nd, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 48 year old Jody Schroeder of Queen Street East and 38 year old Andrew Hunt of no fixed address for break and enter.

It’s alleged in the early morning hours of April 22nd, 2019 the two accused entered a business in the 0-100 block of White Oak Drive and began collecting electronic devices.

Police arrived on scene and took the two accused into custody. Jody Schroeder and Andrew Hunt are both charged with one count of break and enter. Both were held for bail court.
