Farm Destroyed By Fire In Laird Township (additional photos)

An early morning fire on Thursday has destroyed a milking barn at Norland Farms located east of the Sault in Laird Township .

According to reports, Echo Bay Township fire department fought the blaze that may have started shortly after midnight Thursday.Support was also provided by the Tarbutt Township Fire Department .The barn was engulfed in flames within 30 minutes. Norland Farms located on Pumpkin Point Road West is owned by Patrick, Jerry and Donna Connolly.

No one was hurt in the fire. The animals were all rescued.

Friends and neighbours have offered to re-locate the cows to St. Joseph Island for milking .

No details on what caused the fire or cost of damage has been determined.
