Lake Superior State University business professor Madan Saluja joins his wife, Karuna, and three generations of students after receiving a special award recognizing 50 years of teaching at Lake State. The citation was presented during LSSU’s Lukenda School of Business (LSB) annual student and alumni recognition dinner on April 6, an event Saluja first organized 40 years ago. Saluja came to Lake State shortly after humans set foot on the moon.
Thousands of his students have gone on to careers in finance and business throughout the world. One of his students from the 1970s, Ian Ward, outgoing CFO of Auto Owners Insurance, was presented with the Lukenda School of Business Distinguished Alumni Award during the dinner as well. Saluja plans to hang up his mortar board in December, unless persuaded to stay through April 2020.
