Male Uses Vehicle as Weapon

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Stealth Cruiser

On April 16th, 2019 officers with the Investigation Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 43 year old John “Dave” Jamieson of no fixed address for aggravated assault.

It’s alleged on April 13th, 2019 the accused and a person known to him met up in a parking lot in the 200 block of Second Line West. During the meeting the victim exited his vehicle, and the accused proceeded to get into the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The victim stepped in front of the vehicle, at which time the accused drove the vehicle towards the victim, hitting the victim.

The accused fled the area, then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was located on April 16th, 2019 and taken into custody.

He is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, one count of fail to stop at scene of an accident, one count of motor vehicle theft and one count of drive while suspended. He was held for bail court.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
