New North Greenhouses Welcomes Spring!

Hello Spring 2015

New North Greenhouses invites you to their opening event, HELLO SPRING: A Celebration of the Local Gardening Community on Saturday April 27th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 719 Airport Road, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Join us as we usher in spring for our 27th year in business here in the Sault!

Garden Centre manager, Susan Richards and her team have been working hard over the last weeks preparing an inspiring display of locally grown plants and beautiful garden decor to help chase away those ‘too long winter’ blues!

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to enjoy the lively music of Roman Peredun, along with an interactive storytelling of The Very Hungry Caterpillar at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. presented by Daphne Peredun.

Both the Art Gallery of Algoma and the New North Kid’s Club will be onsite with a variety of children’s activities.

Perfectly Painted Faces will be back for the entire event. For just a loonie, Janna will work her magic, with all proceeds being donated to the Sault Horticultural Society to support local community gardens.

New this year will be Tegan Francis with his amazing balloon creations on site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hello Spring 2015Visit displays set up by the Forest Heights Community Garden, the Garden Side, the Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society, Algoma Master Gardeners, the Ermatinger Clergue National Historical Site, Harvest Algoma, Algoma Forest & Nature School, and Algoma Power.

If you’re in the mood for a little shopping beyond the garden, vendors from the Johnson-Desbarats Farmers’ Market will be on hand. Rich-Zest Foods will have organic Watkins spices, homemade jams, fruit spreads, pickles and more! JBeeswax Food Wraps can provide you with sustainable alternatives to plastic wrap. Hogan’s Homestead will be selling their local maple syrup products and Baking by Henry’s Daughter will have tasty goodies for sale to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Hello Spring 2015Volunteers from the Tarentorus Sports Club will be manning the M & M Food Market BBQ with all proceeds from the sale of hamburgers, hotdogs and beverages going to their Junior Curling program.

New owner, John Carroll, will be at Hello Spring from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
