The students of the Public Relations & Event Management (PEM) program held “Take Me Back To BOWL FOR ARCH,” an eighties themed bowling night on Friday, April 5th. The event consisted of a bowling tournament where each team had two and a half hours to bowl as many games as possible. There were four team prizes including Best Team Spirit and Best Team Name as well as many individual participant trivia questions throughout the night. The total funds raised were approximately $3760.00 dollars that will go directly to ARCH hospice.

“We were very happy with the results of the event. It was great to see the community come together to support ARCH,” said Jessica Tett, a student from the Public Relations and Event Management Program. The students would like to say a huge thank you to, The Machine Shop, for providing pizza for all of our participants as well as IDEA Inc., The Sault College Retirees, Northern Superior, Best Buy, Holiday Inn Express, Soo Video, Quality Inn Express and David’s Tea for providing tea to our participants throughout the evening. We also had many sponsors who donated in-‐kind gifts for our silent auction that brought in approximately $900.00 for the proceeds to ARCH.

“ It is very important for the students to execute events and communication materials with real life clients. This gives them the experience they need to succeed in this field. Both Gino and I are proud of their hard work and dedication this semester in assisting not-‐for-‐profits in our community of Sault Ste. Marie, ” said Natasha DeActis, Public Relations & Event Management Professor.

“As a past graduate of the Public Relations and Event Management Program, I know how busy it can get while planning an event and still attending class. I am pleased to see the amazing job the students did with the third annual Bowl for ARCH. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to plan and execute an event like this. They should all be very proud of themselves. ARCH appreciates the generosity from everyone who was involved in this event,” says Katherine Williamson, Events Manager at ARCH.
