ANNA MCCREA PS

May 7 to 9 – Anna McCrea has a Book Fair planned.
May 8 – Gr. 8’s are visiting Sault College.

 

BEN R. McMULLIN PS

May 7 – Grade 3/4 students to Stokely Creek Welcome to Kindergarten from 6 – 7:30 pm. May 8 – Grade 8 students to Sault College.
May 9 – All are encouraged to wear green in support of Children’s Mental Health Week.

 

BLIND RIVER PS

May 8 – Scholastic Book Fair from 9 am to 6 pm.

 

BORÉAL FRENCH IMMERSION PS

May 6 – Author visit from Leigh-Anne Kehler who will talk to students about Diversity
May 9 – Ukrainian Dancers
May 10 – Author Chad Solomon will use puppets to teach the Seven Grandfather Teachings.

 

CENTRAL ALGOMA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

May 7 – CAES has their School District Review May 10 Parents are invited into the school for a Cake Walk.

We are tying Education Week in with Children’s Mental Health Week, which is the same week.

 

EAST VIEW PS

May 6 – Drop Everything and Read May 7 Student-Led conferences from 9:30 to 2:30;
May 8 – Student-Led conferences from 9:30 to 2:30; Welcome to Kindergarten from 5:00 to 6:30
May 9 – Student-Led conferences from 9:30 to 2:30
May 10 – Drop Everything and Dance

Classes will be doing buddy activities through-out the week. Different classes will get together to do various activities.

 

ELLIOT LAKE SECONDARY SCHOOL

May 8 – Pancake Breakfast
May 10 – ELSS is celebrating Indigenous Culture with an Indigenous Culture day and Pow Wow on Friday, May 10.

We have invited students from our feeder schools to attend as well.

 

F.H. CLERGUE FRENCH IMMERSION PS

Activities have been planned to help celebrate 40 years of French Immersion as well as Education Week.

May 7 – Author Leigh Anne Kehler visits Grades 3 & 6 Teddy Bear Picnic with Parents in the School Gymnasium at 12:00 and 2:15 pm

May 10 – Grades 5-8 Parent Open House Come in to share in your child’s learning between 12:00 to 1:30pm.

H.M. ROBBINS PS

Parents are invited in from Monday May 6th to Friday May 10th for Student Led Conferences. Tables will be set up outside the classrooms for parents and students to view their portfolio.

May 6 – Gr. 7/8 off to Sault College Drop everything & Read
May 7 – Dance Extravaganza at Korah Collegiate – show 6:30 p.m. Please bring your child for 6:15 p.m.
May 8 – French Café- our Gr. 7/8 class & Madame invite you to the café with your child. Gr. 7/8 will also have a bake sale. Book Fair- open 9:00 a.m. – 3 p.m.
May 9 – Book Fair – 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Kindergarten Tea in the gym –2:00-3:00 p.m. May 10 – Cultural Day – students will be rotating to various rooms to learn about different cultures. Book Fair open until 10:25 a.m. Bingo – last period

May 9 – Snuggle up and Read – Parents come to school and pick an area in the school to read with their child or children.

QUEEN ELIZABETH PS

Monday, May 6:

  • Our Volunteer luncheon will be held where we recognize the work of our fabulous volunteers. So much could not be done without them!
  • Parent council meeting at 7:00 pm.

Wednesday, May 8:

  • Grade 8 class spends the day at Sault College exploring a variety of available programs.
  • Book Fair runs all day today!
  • Parent pizza lunch: we extend an invitation to parents and grandparents or caregivers to come and eat with your child during our regular Pizza Day.

Thursday, May 9:

  • Book Fair continues all day.
  • Jump Rope for Heart: Students who had parental permission to raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation will spend an hour at the end of the day participating in skipping and outdoor activities. Thank you for your support!
  • PRO Grant Arts Night: Please consider joining us as our parent council hosts an evening of experiencing the arts. There is a variety of parent and child-friendly sessions available to choose from.

Friday, May 10:

  • Our annual Queen Elizabeth Talent Show takes place today at 11:30 in the gym. We again have some amazing talents to celebrate among our students.

Watch for our Queen Elizabeth display board that will be in the Station Mall during Education Week.

 

ST JOSEPH ISLAND CENTRAL PS

May 10 – Geography Challenge We also are hosting a Book Fair for the entire week.

 

TARENTORUS PS

May 8 – Grade 8 Day – Sault College
May 10 – Dance Extravaganza (12-1pm) at Sault Community Theatre (White Pines) Jump Rope for Heart (2:30 – 3:15)

 

WHITE PINES INTERMEDIATE & SECONDARY

May 9 – Coffee House in the Theatre at 7:00 pm

Throughout the week, the 4U English class with Mrs. D’Ulisse will be going to Pinewood to read to the Grade 1 class.
