VIDEO: Recognizing EMS Workers for National Paramedic Week

The week of May 26th – June 1st, 2019 is recognized as Paramedic Services Week. Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services – EMS Division would like to thank and recognize the hard work and dedication our team of 64 paramedics and supporting staff provide our citizens and visitors when they call for ambulance services.

Sault Ste. Marie paramedics responded to over 18, 000 calls for ambulance service last year. They operate out of two EMS base stations located in Sault Ste. Marie and Garden River First Nation and cover more than 44,000 square kilometers of response area. Our paramedics provide continual 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year coverage in every weather condition within the district.

ONNtv went to the EMS/Fire Services building on 65 Old Garden River Road and spoke with Brian Haines and Paul Hendrie about their time serving the city of Sault Ste. Marie.
