15u Black Sox Baseball Club Take 3 of 4 in North Bay

The 15u Elks 341 Black Sox Baseball club hit the road this past weekend for a four game set in North Bay.

The locals managed to capture 3 of the 4 games and improved their overall record to 6-6.

Game 1: North Bay Stingers  6  Soo Black Sox  4

The Sox got off to a quick start scoring early, however, North Bay was able to weather the storm and come back to grab the game one victory.

Losing Pitcher was Julian Ruscio on 2 2/3 strong innings.

Carter Gallivan led the offense with a triple and 2 singles, and Malcolm McGugan added 3 singles and 2 RBI’s.

 

Game 2: Soo Black Sox  14  North Bay Stingers  7

A huge 7 run third inning helped the Sox control the game and get the split on Saturday.

The offense produced 11 total hits and the Sox also stole 9 bases throughout the game with Colin Sirois swiping 2 of them.

The winning pitcher was Matthew Gagne with 5 solid innings.

Malcolm McGugan led the way with 3 singles and 3 RBI’s while Adam Sylvestre added 2 Singles to help the cause.

 

Game 3: Soo Black Sox  11  North Bay Stingers  4

Sunday morning, saw the Sox get off to a slow start before settling in. A big 4th inning saw the Soo plate 6 runs and take the lead for good.

Winning pitcher, Carter Gallivan, tossed 4 innings with 7 strikeouts to stifle the North Bay offensive attack.

Avery Kalliomaa had 2 singles and 2 RBI’s to lead the attack, while Brett Davey had a double and 2 RBI’s and Julian Ruscio added a double.

Game 4: Soo Black Sox  13  North Bay Stingers  5

In the final game, the Locals broke the game open with 7 runs in the 3rd inning to end the weekend strong.

The Sox had 13 hits in the victory.

The winning pitcher was Malcolm McGugan. He also added 2 singles offensively.

Matthew Gagne added 2 singles and an RBI, while Landon Assiginack had a double and RBI
Lucas Malcolm and Owen Allen both added a single and RBI

Next action for the Sox is Wednesday, June 13th @ Sinclair Yards when they host the Soo Michigan 15u Sluggers.
