The Elks Black Sox visited the Sun Parlour League this weekend for an exhibition set with three ball clubs. The locals had a rough weekend going 0-3 in their first visit south this season.
Game 1: Walker Homesites Hawks 5 Soo Black Sox 2
This game was a tight affair but a costly error in the 3rd inning scored 2 runs and put Walker Homesites ahead for good.
Losing Pitcher Malcolm McGugan was solid in the outing going 5 innings and striking out 8.
Colin Sirois led the Sox attack with 2 singles and an RBI, while Carter Gallivan added a triple in the losing cause.
Game 2: Woodslee Orioles 12 Soo Black Sox 2
The Soo could not find their footing in game one as they made 4 errors in the 2nd inning. Woodslee broke the game open with 5 runs in that inning and stayed in control.
Losing Pitcher was Colton Fata gave up 9 runs, however only 3 were earned.
Lucas Malcolm had 2 Singles while Avery Kalliomaa added an RBI single and Brett Davey also added a single offensively
Game 3: Woodslee Orioles 15 Soo Black Sox 5
The game three result was no kinder to the locals. Woodslee jumped out early and often pounding out 12 hits and controlling the game from the outset.
Losing pitcher was Matthew Gagne with Carter Gallivan coming in as relief.
Malcolm McGugan, Avery Kalliomaa & Lucas Malcolm all had RBI singles while Owen Allen and Gagne added singles of their own.
The Soo Black Sox were scheduled to play the Belle River Braves on Sunday, however, a steady rain cancelled the double header.
Next action for the 15u Black Sox is Wednesday, June 19th vs. Soo Michigan 15u Sluggers 6:00 pm at Sinclair Yards.
