Local short track racing drops the green flag on the second night of the season this Saturday Night (June 15) at the Kinross Speedpark.
The quarter-mile comes to life with their ‘Quarter-Mile Clash’ featuring a full show of Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars, Four Cylinders and Mini-Wedges.
Featuring an ABC-A Division special, one driver will lock themselves into the feature event at the Hot Shoe 100 to be held later this summer at Kinross.
This week’s event is proudly presented by Autore Oil Company / Shute Oil.
Qualifying is set for 4 PM with racing action to follow at 6 PM.
(In the event of inclement weather, a raindate will set-up events for Sunday, June 16th with qualifying at 1 PM and racing at 3 PM)
Grandstand admission is affordable for the whole family at $10 USD / $12 CDN for Adults, $7 USD / $9 CDN for Seniors (60+) and Students (12-17), while Kids 11 & Under are FREE.
Heading into the second night of racing Buddy Gray IV (Petoskey, MI) leads the Modified Division with a three point lead over Tim Aho (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) while Steve Saddison (Harbor Springs, MI) rounds out the top three.
2016 Track Champion Keenan Spurway (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) leads the ABC-A Stock Car Division with a four point lead over local racing veteran Dennis Aho (Sault Ste. Marie, MI).
John Carter (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) rounds out the top three in the division.
Week One feature winner Daniel Bibeau (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) leads Pickford, Michigan’s Todd Nyberg in the ABC Stock Car B-Division while two-time track champion Buddy Palahnuk (Goulais River, ON) caps off the top three.
Prince Township, ON competitor Rob Wagner took an opening night feature win, and the points lead, into this week’s racing over Ken Fewchuk (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) and second-generation pilot John Weiman (Harbor Springs, MI).
Kinross Speedpark can be conveniently found by taking Exit 378 off I-75 and following the signs to the Chippewa County Fairgrounds.
