Whether arriving from Brampton or Brazil, it can be difficult for newcomers to know where to start exploring a new city.
In an effort to make Sault Ste. Marie a more welcoming community, the Local Immigration Partnership, in collaboration with FutureSSM, has created “Welcome to Town” kits to help newcomers discover our community. The kits are designed to help newcomers take action to meet new people and learn about local businesses, heritage, cultural, entertainment and tourist highlights.
Local businesses and organizations are invited to get involved in the “Welcome to Town” kit by contributing items such as gift cards, coupons, branded clothing, useful or creative SWAG and information about services and programs offered.
“By contributing to the welcome kit, you will be letting newcomers know they’re invited to discover what makes your business or organization a unique part of our community. You’ll also be acting as an ambassador, showing newcomers how the Sault is a community of friendly faces and proud local establishments,” states Adrian DeVuono, Project Coordinator, Local Immigration Partnership.
Items will be distributed in a canvas bag approximately the size of a grocery bag. Kits will include information about the city, a tourist guidebook, city map, lapel pin, and branded city t-
shirt among other start-up items. Kits will be distributed from the Community Development and Enterprise Services office located on the main level of the Civic Centre.
If your business or organization would like to contribute items, contact Maegan Brennan, Local Immigration Partnership Outreach Specialist, at (705) 759-5485 or email [email protected].
Lisa Renee poster child for the right
I hope that they are being educated on the dangers of black bears
Lisa can you show me any proof about liberals paying media? And I don’t mean from a conservative blog site
https://capforcanada.com/trudeaus-new-600-million-media-bailout-will-end-freedom-of-press-in-canada/
You’re much better off to remain silent and be thought stupid than to speak up and remove all doubt.
Lisa Renne And has that happened yet? Do you even know the process involved ?
And by the way that’s a propaganda site
Craig Huckerby Yes, we do. UniforCanada is one, Cbc is another, national Post, and there was one more.
Face book is so lame when it comes to news, twitter is the place to be
You’re much better off to remain silent and be thought stupid than to speak up and remove all doubt.
Lisa Renne that’s all fake news whatever you read. The fund announced has not been implemented as of yet. The CBC gets 1.2 billion because its mandated by government (regardless who is in power) national post ? Show me evidence you can’t just say something and think it happened
Lisa Renne isn’t it all the same anyway ?
Craig Huckerby why even respond to uninformed FB trolls? It’s laughable just how bad they are misinformed and yet try and present what they read somewhere online as fact lol
No Numbers, why is that?? did you take some of that liberal buyout news money too Sault Online, why is there no numbers?
I wish this was around when I moved to the soo last year at least Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the city hall were more than helpful when i called for advice and help
