Join the Northern Ontario Latin-Hispanic Association (NOLHA) for an unforgettable evening at their first annual Gala Latina on Saturday, September 28th from 5-11pm at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront and celebrate Latin-Hispanic culture!
This Latin Heritage fundraising event is a fun & formal event where the community of Sault Ste. Marie can gather to celebrate the sights, sounds and tastes of Latin and Hispanic culture. The entire night has been designed to bring an authentic Latin experience to the residents of Sault Ste. Marie. Your ticket gives you access to an incredible evening featuring Spanish cuisine, live singers, salsa dance performances and live Cuban music band showcasing Latin-Hispanic culture in Canada.
“The main goal of the event is to showcase the beauty of Latin-Hispanic culture and all that NOLHA can offer to our local community. It’s great because the community gets an opportunity to meet and speak with individuals who have made a real impact on Latin-Hispanic culture in our community! The event will also act as a way to welcome newly established immigrants to our community and give us an opportunity to celebrate the people who are making an impact in Northern Ontario and the Latin Hispanic community like our local businesses!” says Sandra Mongui, Organizer & Founder/Chair of NOLHA.
Francine Floreani, owner of Great Lakes Honda, understands how important it is to recognize, welcome and celebrate the many cultures here in Sault Ste. Marie. “When Sandra asked me to partner with NOLHA to get this event off the ground, I was really excited to offer my support to this organization! I know Sandra personally after completing Spanish lessons taught by her, and the partnership between the two organizations just made sense. Great Lakes Honda has always been a ‘Community Driven’ business and this is another way we could offer our support!” said Francine about the partnership.
All proceeds from this event will go directly to NOLHA, as they work to provide free Spanish classes for adults and children, Spanish language translation services and workshops to promote awareness and understanding of Latin & Hispanic culture as well as to retain Latin and Hispanic immigrants in Northern Ontario.
Those in attendance can expect an evening filled with entertainment from the two Master of
Ceremonies, Tim Murphy & Zoi Monroy; as well as Cuban music band, Los Barbudos, Brazilian singer Lidianne Poldmaa and Salsa dancers & performers, Zoi Monroy and Tommy Ajayi!
This event will also be a celebration of the Hispanic-Latin American Heritage Month in Canada!
