SUDBURY, Ont. — Police in Sudbury, Ont., say one of their officers has died in a two-vehicle collision on a local highway.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service did not provide many details, such as whether the officer was on duty.
It also did not provide the officer’s name or rank, saying it’s withholding such information at the request of the family.
Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the crash, which took place on Thursday afternoon on Highway 69 when a pickup truck collided with a commercial fuel tanker truck.
Police say the person killed was the 37-year-old driver of the pickup.
The fuel tanker driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
