Downtown area fire under investigation


On Tuesday, August 13th, 2019, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service crews were called to a reported residential fire in the downtown area of the city.

Shortly after midnight, fire crews responded to a fire in the 0-100 block of London Street. Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries to report.  There is extensive damage to the residence. The fire remains under investigation.


    • Amanda Holmes my dad was a professional fireman for almost 20 years (in southern ontario, not the sault) and they were forever talking about closing stations, using volunteer departments only. As if there is no need for firefighters within the community….. as if youre not fighting fires from sun up to sun down, your services are worthless… its been an issue for so many years..
