The week of August 19th to 23rd, 2019 is Social Services Awareness Week. Community social service agencies have come together with the aim of increasing public awareness about the many programs and services available within our community.
Events taking place during the week include an interactive tour for front line social service workers, information tables in the Station Mall, Bubbles and Books at Bellevue Park, Random Acts of Kindness and Pop-Up Cafés. The week rounds out on Friday August 23rd with the 4th Annual Game ON Neighbourhood Street Party taking place on Albion Street across from the old Rosedale School!
Social services are vital to our community’s health, well-being and prosperity. Residents of Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area are encouraged to join in the fun, participate and enjoy the events scheduled throughout the week.

Marie Police Services, Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services, Canadian Mental Health Association, Child Care Algoma, Homelessness Prevention Team, Ministry of Community and Social Services, Algoma Family Services, Algoma Public Health, John Howard Society of Sault Ste. Marie, EarlyON Child and Family Centres, Children’s Aid Society of Algoma, Indian Friendship Centre and Nogdawindamin.
