The City’s Public Works and Engineering Service Department would like to inform residents that with the significant rainfall experienced recently, high water levels and strong winds, portions of the waterfront boardwalk will be closed today. Staff will be on site to monitor areas until the water subsides and repairs can be made.
Please be cautious and obey all signage in the area during this time.
For more information and to submit a service request, residents may contact Public Works at 705-759-5201, email [email protected] or use the City’s online service request tool at www.saultstemarie.ca/servicerequest
The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks its citizens for their patience and understanding during this temporary closure. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
Why not close some of the compensating damns? Thats what they’re there for….
Reg, because Lake superior is already high. If they close gates then everything north of the gates floods out even more than it already is.
