“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
    – Chinese Proverb

This is the proverb that Sault Ste. Marie lives by. It has proven, once again that it is the best city in the world.
YES, we have been categorized as an opioid capital. YES we are in a position of great unemployment. And YES we have a lot of domestic abuse, addiction, and crime, but one thing that we do have is love and caring for people in need.
Last night, Sept. 19, 2019, proved that when someone needs help, we are all there, lined up to do whatever we could for them.
Last night, Sept. 18, 2019, two boys got lost and a mother and their family was frantic to find them.
In a matter of minutes, Sault Ste. Marie came together and fought tooth and nail to find them . Garden River Police Services, community members as well as Search and Rescue formed a search team of over 200 and scoured the area. And social media caught hell. FaceBook was inundated with posts about the two kids. Everyone shared the post. Sootoday and saultonline posted it on their websites. Everything else came to a standstill. Politics, Trump, Ford, Chrysler, Iran, and even a troubled relationship was put on the backburner until these two lost boys were found.
Last night, Sept. 18, 2019, all the angels of our city helped to reunite a family with their two lost children. Thank you to everyone that helped in the search.

Sault Ste. Marie, made of people that care.
