A teacher with the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board has been suspended after being charged with Fraud.
On Sept. 13, 2019, officers with the Investigation Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 49-year-old Debbie Romano of Queen Street East for fraud.
It’s alleged she was assisting with fundraising for an organization between September, 2017 and June, 2018 when she allegedly defrauded the organization of approximately $6,000.
She was arrested on Sept. 13, 2019 and charged with one count of fraud over $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 28, 2019.
