Are you looking for something for your child to do that ISN’T gaming? Does the sound of learning transferrable life skills while having fun and meeting new friends sound like exactly what your teen needs? The 2310 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps is offering all that and more!

Monday, October 21st   from 6:30-9:00pm, the corps will be hosting an Open House to give interested youth and their parents an opportunity to see what the program is all about. There will be interactive displays and the cadets, staff and volunteers will be on site to answer questions and share information.

Curious about what our marksmanship program is all about? See it in action! Interested in learning drums or bagpipes? Come experience our band and see the instruments up close. Learn more about biathlon, orienteering, drill, highland dance and more.

The program prides itself on being inclusive to all with no financial requirements. There is NO COST to join, or for any activity that the cadets participate in. Uniforms, lessons, meals while participating in certain activities etc. are all covered.

Cadets in high school can easily accumulate their 40 volunteer hours needed to graduate through the cadet program.

The Army Cadet Program teaches young people the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment while promoting self-esteem, teamwork and self-discipline.

It is a free program open to boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18. The 2310 Army Cadet Corps meets Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. at the Sault Armoury (1 Garrison Way). Training runs from September to June.  New recruits are welcome to attend any Monday night.

The cadet program is a free, civilian youth organization with ties to the Canadian Forces that is funded by the Department of National Defence. Cadets are not members of the military and are not expected to join the Canadian Forces upon leaving the program.
