Rotary Santa Claus Parade Planning Underway

The Rotary Santa Claus Parade will welcome Mr. Claus to Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday, November 23rd at 6PM when he makes his annual entrance along Queen Street East. Local businesses, community groups, and schools are encouraged to join in the celebration. Walking entries, people-powered entries (e.g. bicycles), and floats are all welcome. This year’s parade marks the 80th anniversary of the first Santa Claus Parade held on December 15, 1939 by the Retail Merchants Association.

“This is always a special night for the whole crew,” shared Senior Elf Coordinator, Phyllis Navidad, “Sault Ste. Marie always makes us feel very welcome. It is incredible to see the spirit and creativity that they put into their parade entries.”
