VIDEO: Mapleview Extendicare Opens Multi-Sensory Room

Aiming to “decrease and manage responsive behaviours”, Mapleview Extendicare along with Behaviour Support Ontario had their grand opening of their Multi-Sensory room Wednesday afternoon.

Named “cozy corner”, the room is designed to help assist patients with dementia who may experience sensory overload. The room is fitted with weighted blankets, simulated pet therapy, black out curtains, and a number of other options also used for comfort.

ONNtv checked things out.
