The City of Sault Ste. Marie and City Council officially launched its’ Giving Tuesday campaign on Friday morning at City Hall.
Giving Tuesday was established as a national day of giving in 2013 to be held on the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The initiative is a celebration of philanthropy and volunteerism where people contribute what they are able to donate. Giving Tuesday sees citizens work together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes, build stronger communities, and think about the needs of others. Councillor Lisa Vezeau-Allen brought it to the Sault last year.
