Bon Soo Polar Bear Swim

Over 100 people took part in the OLG Bon Soo Polar Bear Swim at Bellevue Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Polar Bear Swim has been taking place at the winter carnival since 1971, and is one of the last events of the 10-day event.

Other activities at Bellvue Park included ATV and fat bike rides and snowshoeing.

Bon Soo wrapped up Sunday night with the Miss Teen and Miss World Northern Ontario pageants.

It’s been listed internationally as an ‘area of concern’ for 30 years due to high concentrations of toxins & heavy metals.
