The new year began with some inconvenience for over 7000 PUC customers, as a strong winter storm knocked out power lines with some outages lasting for three days.
PUC wanted to do their part in preparing the city for an outage, should another one occur.
On Tuesday, PUC Services, along with community partners the Canadian Red Cross, Algoma Public Health, the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Sault Fire Services and Vulnerable Persons Registry held an open house to help residents better understand how to prepare for 72 hour power outages.
