A winter storm that hit southern Ontario hard Wednesday night and Thursday has tapped into rather cold air and with Lake Superior far from being frozen over, the lake effect machine has cranked up once again. Expect to see snow and blowing / drifting snow intoo Friday morning when the winds will shift around to a southerly flow cutting off the lake effect snow showers.

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for tonight into Friday.
Lake effect snow bands off of Lake Superior are expected to affect the region at times into Friday, especially areas near the shore.
Local whiteout conditions are expected.
Travelers are advised to exercise caution.
