SAULT STE. MARIE – Based on recommendations from Algoma Public Health, St. Vincent Place has decided to continue providing services in our Food Bank and Soup Kitchen in a modified format.
Our Soup Kitchen will continue to serve Wednesday dinners from 5:00 to 6:00 pm and Saturday lunches from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, but in take-out format only. A limited number of clients will be permitted to enter the building at one time to pick up their meal. There will be no coffee service at this time.
Our Food Bank will continue to provide food packages on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, but all packages will be prepared ahead of time with standard items; clients will not be given choices about what they receive. We ask that only one representative from each family come to pick up the Food Bank package.
If possible, Food Bank clients should call ahead to provide their name and the number of people in their household, and indicate that they will be coming to pick up a package. This will allow us to check their eligibility ahead of time and therefore keep the process moving as smoothly as possible. Those wishing to do this can call 705-253-2770 ext. 5, email [email protected], or message our Facebook page. If leaving a voicemail, please be sure to indicate what day you will be coming for your package and if you require delivery. We can’t promise that we will be able to accommodate all who desire delivery, but we will do what we can.
We know that this is a very difficult time, so we appreciate everyone’s patience as we adjust our services based on current regulations and recommendations. At this time, no other services are affected, but this is a rapidly-evolving situation, so please stay tuned for further updates.
