Emergency responders from multiple agencies rushed to a snowmobile collision on the D Trail, northest of Connor Road, which has resulted in at least one person injured today. Aweres Volunteer Fire Department, Goulais Fire and Resue, OPP and Sault Search and Rescue were quick to respond, converging on the scene from a number of connected trails.

An emergency responder from Aweres Volunteer Fire was able to tell us that a male and youth were extracted from the scene a few hours ago using a nearby trail that brought them across Trout Lake to an awaiting ambulance. AVFD deployed their new tracked Argo to assist emergency responders still on scene working to stabilize a male for extraction to an awaiting Ambulance on Connor Road.

The condition of the three people involved in the collision is not known at this time. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

Note: This story has been edited from original post to correct that there were two males and a youth and no female involved. It is now know that there were two snowmobiles involved.
