1950 to 2020 ~ With guidance from the Great Spirit and love of his family, Adrian John Hoke, of Havilland Bay, Goulais River passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the age of 69.
Adrian was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Hard-working in his career as a Metal Polisher at Blake & amp; Sons and self-employed Fareham Taxi businesses. He then took that entrepreneurial passion across the Great Pond to Canada, where he owned and operated McCauley’s Motel, The Village Trading Post & Gas Bar, Misty Mountain Fly Shop, and Lorri’s Country Kitchen.
He married the love of his life, Josefina, on May 16th, 1989 and would have celebrated 31 years. Always a caring father of Sherrie Louise (Danny), Sally Jayne (James), John-Paul, and Cherokee May (Alex). He will be missed by his survived siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family in England, Canada, Philippines, and Australia.
Ady will be fondly remembered by his great friends in England at the Game Conservatory where he had a passion for pigeon shooting and here in Canada, fly-fishing the lakes and rivers of Northern Ontario. He was proud of his family’s business and shared many chuckles with valued customers.
A celebration of Adrian’s life will be held at a later date.

“He’s in the sun, the wind, the rain,
he’s in the air you breathe
with every breath you take.
He sings a song of hope and cheer
there’s no more pain, no more fear.
You’ll see him in the clouds above,
hear him whisper words of love.
You’ll be together before long,
until then listen for his song.”
