OPP respond to 911 call – person charged


(GOULAIS RIVER, ON) – On April 26, 2020 at approximately 7 p.m. members from the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residence in Goulais River, Ontario as a result of a 911 hang up call.

Officers arrived at the scene where they encountered a person waiting for them at the end of the driveway. When police attempted to attend the residence to verify any or all parties safety, the person obstructed police from doing so.

As a result, a 53 year-old person from Goulais River, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Obstruct peace officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 17th, 2020 located at 426 Queen Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
