OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the partial closing of the border with the United States will be extended by another 30 days.

The border has been closed to all but essential traffic and goods since mid-March, in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Trudeau says the two countries have agreed to maintain current conditions at least into June.

  1. The extra 30-day closure should just about bankrupt many businesses in Soo Michigan. Soo Michigan depends on Canadians for that extra business that will keep them afloat.

    • Unless you have small kids that like going to water parks, zoos, kid friendly camping grounds, discount shopping centers, casinos decent music events. All things within 2 hrs in michigan, but 8 to 10 hrs in canada.
