Council Moves Ahead with Capital Projects

Road Construction

Sault Ste. Marie City Council will proceed with pre-approved projects totaling over $50 million as planned.

Six projects including various road construction jobs for Second Avenue  and Sixth Avenue reconstruction as well as Farwell Terrace Aqueduct, Northern Avenue resurfacing and west end water treatment upgrades.

Several other projects on the go and in design and engineering stages that are ready for any government funding packages include the reconstruction of Third Line and a new Twin Pad Arena.

Construction of Black road widening to four lanes is continuing with help from the Provincial government as well as recently announced 3 million from the Provincial government for Trunk Road resurfacing from the city limits to the Husky Gas and Rest Stop.
