Crime Stoppers Celebrates 35 Years In The Sault and Algoma

0

Crime Stoppers is celebrating 35 years serving Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District and they are incredibly grateful to you for your past, present, and future commitment to their program.

Crime Stoppers could not have achieved the success that they have since their formation here in 1985 without the dedicated support of law enforcement, media, and members of the
community.

Crime Stoppers encourages the public to call with information concerning crimes that have been committed, are being committed, or are about to be committed. A tip to Crime
Stoppers is anonymous, protected by case law, and has become an invaluable investigative tool for Canadian Police Services.

Crime Stoppers offers a service to the community which consists of anonymous reporting of criminal activity. They offer a local tip line number, a toll-free 1-800 number, a tip submission form on our website, and a mobile app called “P3”. Crime Stoppers continues to operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Since 1985, we have assisted with 4,434 arrests, 2,683 cases cleared, recovered $3,808,932 in property, seized $7,283,269 in drugs, and paid $486,596 in rewards.
Remember that these stats represent only cases where rewards were approved and do not take into account all of our efforts.

There are several cases where tips were received by police directly following an awareness campaign or when tips remain open and are likely to be acted on in the future.

Crime Stoppers has included two ways you can join in the celebration of their 35th Anniversary below.

Crime Stoppers is also seeking Board Members, read on if this is something you might be interested in.
