EVOY, Paul Lothian

1

Our family is sad to announce the passing of Paul Evoy on June 25, 2020 at Sault Area Hospital in his 72nd year.

Loving husband of Suzanne for nearly 47 years. Proud father of Beth (Rod) and Johnny (Andrea). Caring Grampi to Lauren, Jeffrey, Adam, Lily, Darby and Clara Beth. Brother of David (Natalia), Gordon (Laurie), Elson (Cathy), and the late Patrick. Brother-in-law to Beverley (Mick), late David (Patti), and Tim (Barb). Dear son-in-law of the late Rudy Gjos, and Gerry(Milton) Shewfelt. Special uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews, many of whom he gave special nicknames to. Good neighbour and friend to many, especially Billy Palmer.

Paul was born and raised by the late Don and Corinne Evoy, in the small village of Bar River. He loved life on the farm and enjoyed raising rabbits, cattle and pigs. He grew up playing hockey with his brothers and eventually played hockey for the Sault Jr. Greyhounds and continued to enjoy playing and watching this sport for the duration of his life. He settled down with Suzanne and took over the Family Farm in Bar River and continued to work at Algoma Steel. He retired and spent time on the farm with his cows, and enjoyed visiting and spending time with his children, and especially his grandkids.

Paul’s Family would like to thank the nurses in Intensive Care for their compassion and kindness over the last few weeks.

Due to current circumstances, a private family service is planned at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E 705-759-2522). Friends are invited to view the service online Friday, July 3, 2020 starting at 1:00 pm and can be viewed anytime up to 90 days. Go to www.funeraweb.tv and select Paul’s name to view the service.

If desired, a donation in Paul’s memory may be made (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH, SAH Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Please visit the Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
