OFRA Celebrates Juhannus Festival By Parade

On June 24, the Ontario Finnish Rest Home Association (OFRA) celebrated their annual Juhannus Festival but in a different way. Juhannus is a Midsummer Celebration that takes place in Finland and keeping with it’s Finnish Culture OFRA decided to celebrate with a parade. About 30 cars met at Superior Heights at 2 p.m. and the convoy of cars made its way through the OFRA campus honking horns and wishing residents a happy Juhannus. Residents watched outside of their windows and some even lined up around the courtyard to watch. Being unable to host their usual Juhannus festival, OFRA was so overjoyed by the amount of participants.
