Man Charged with Impaired Driving

On June 3, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 56-year-old George Turco for impaired driving alcohol and drugs.

At 8:09 p.m. police responded to the 400 block of Henry Street of a man asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival officers observed the accused speaking with EMS beside his vehicle. Officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired. A Standard Field Sobriety Test was administered and the accused performed poorly.

He was arrested. A subsequent search of the area of arrest found him to be in possession of 0.93 grams of suspected cocaine, 0.75 grams of suspected methamphetamine, seven suspected methamphetamine tablets and eight suspected amphetamine tablets.

 

Woman Charged with Theft

On June 4, 2020 officers with the Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit arrested 27-year-old Leeann McKay for theft under $5,000.

It is alleged on December 30, 2019 the accused entered a business in the 200 block of Second Line West, selected two items and left without attempting to pay for them. The approximate value of the items taken is $123.90.

She was located on June 4, 2020 and arrested. She is charged with theft under $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 17, 2020.

 

Man Charged with Failing to Attend Court

On June 4, 2020 officers with Patrol Services, Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit arrested 28-year-old Deiter Prarie-Chicken for breach of recognizance.

At 3:00 a.m. officers observed the accused going in and out of driveways in the area of Amber Road and Ashgrove Avenue. Officers approached the accused in the area of Bennett Boulevard and learned he was wanted for failing to appear in court.

He was arrested and a subsequent search of the area of arrest the accused was found to be in possession of 9.9 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. The estimated value of the narcotics seized is $1,485.

He is charged with failing to attend court and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 17, 2020.
