Want to start a small business after COVID-19 but are unsure where or how to start? Various community organizations and small businesses will host a free Webex information session on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The virtual session features presenters from StartUP Sault Ste. Marie, The City of Sault Ste. Marie, Millworks Centre for Entrepreneurship, The Community Development Corporation of Sault Ste. Marie, The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, and NORDIK Institute. Those interested in attending can register on Eventbrite to receive instructions for downloading Webex and logging into the secure virtual event.
“Despite the changes brought on by the pandemic, there are many opportunities for entrepreneurs to succeed,” says Nevin Buconjic, Founder at StartUP Sault. “There has been a growth in online shopping and an increased need for digital-based services. Entrepreneurs are discovering new ways to work amid the change and help our community through the pandemic. Now could be the right time to explore new ideas and kick-start a business.”
The information session will provide an overview of services and programs available locally and virtually. Presenters will discuss financial resources, mentorship networks, training courses and new opportunities for small businesses in the post-pandemic marketplace. Presenters include:
Nevin Buconjic, StartUP Sault
Tom Vair, City of Sault Ste. Marie
Jeannette Adderley, Diamond Engagement and Driver Seat
Dan Friyia, Community Development Corporation
Harleen Puaar Shukla, Millworks Centre for Entrepreneurship
