If you were like thousands of people lining both sides of the St. Mary’s River Saturday night in anticipation of the annual 4th of July fireworks, you were likely disappointed.
According to Soo Michigan officials who tweeted an announcement Sunday morning, technical difficulties with the electronic firing system resulted in the fireworks being postponed. As a result the fireworks were a no-show.
The show must go on however and the city of Soo Michigan plans to have the firework display tonight (Sunday) at dusk.
The Canada Day fireworks were scrubbed this year due to restrictions in place because of Covid-19.

The same people that are going to watch the American fireworks are the same ones that would have watched our own if we had them.
