ELLIOT LAKE – Algoma-Manitoulin NDP MPP Michael Mantha released the following statement following news of the closure of the early learning child care centre at Sault College due to financial difficulties:
“Young families are already worried about how to get back to work and school as we recover from COVID-19’s impact. The closure of the Sault College early learning centre is only going to make this challenge so much harder for moms and dads.
Ross Romano is the minister of Colleges and Universities in the Ford government, and he should be standing up for families in the Sault. He can use his power as minister to support child care in the city, and to make early learning and child care centres a priority at colleges and universities across the province. Instead, he’s done nothing at all.
Child care centres in Sault Ste. Marie need the Ford government’s financial support to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, and they need it now.
Ross Romano needs to step up to help struggling families in the city, not just turn his back and leave them in the lurch.”
LOL! Ross Romano “step up”…that’s a good one!
Maybe he’ll give another cribs tour of his house, I know that really got us all through some of these dark covid days.
The daycare and it’s limitations and cost has been an issue for more than 15 years. Just sayin
Ross who??
Why would Ross Romano care? He moved to Sudbury…he might get them some daycare
What about the $4 an hour raise for PSWs….that was promised and never received by the government
Teri-Lynn Parr raise for what
it’s been a month since daycares were “allowed ” to open but how many were actually able too.
