The Executive Director of the John Howard Society of Sault Ste Marie is pleased to have received a grant from the COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund. The money will go toward the society’s Emergency Remand Triage and Reintegration Project.
“This grant of $45,000 will assist John Howard in the Sault by offering additional supports for those who are being released from custody, ensuring they have housing, referral information and personal protection equipment,” says Suzanne Lajambe. “Our 7 days a week supports will ensure increased safety to our community over the next 7 months, through these additional services.”
Given the increase in inmates being released due to COVID-19, the program will help those inmates return to the community with the support they need.
