On August 15, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 44-year-old Michael Carricato for impaired driving alcohol and drugs.
At 8:39 p.m. officers observed a vehicle travelling south on Carmen’s Way cross the centre yellow line into the oncoming lane. A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking with the accused they noticed a smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle located approximately 259 grams of cannabis in the vehicle. Officers developed grounds to believe the accused had a drug in his body and a Standardized Field Sobriety Test was administered. The accused performed poorly and was arrested. He later completed a Drug Recognition Evaluation and he performed poorly.
He is charged with impaired driving alcohol and drugs and possession of over 30 grams of cannabis in a public place. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 19, 2020.
