With just this past week the Ontario Hockey League announced its return to play schedule with the upcoming season slated to get underway in December.
With the league’s plan in place, the Greyhounds are once again working on their bid to host the Memorial Cup Playoffs but have now earned the support of the city.
City council voted in favour of $300,000 dollars in funding to support the bid. This funding is very similar to Oshawa’s $360,000 dollar city funding for their bid, as the two city’s go 1 on 1 for hosting rights.
The regular season is scheduled to end on Thursday April 29th with The 102nd Memorial Cup scheduled to be played June 17-27.
