Sault Ste Marie is receiving close to $25,000 for the city’s Memorial Tower. The money comes through the Veteran Affairs’ Commemorative Partnership Program. The restoration of Memorial Tower will include a commemorative display as well as interior and exterior repairs.
Sault Ste Marie MP Terry Sheehan extended his thanks to Councillor Corey Gardi for his initiative in seeking support for the restoration.
“I acknowledge the Mayor and all of City Council for their commitment to restoring this very special site that recognizes the ultimate sacrifice that women and men in the Canadian Armed Forces have made to protect our democracy,” Sheehan says. “It is truly an honour as your MP to be part of this project…Lest we forget.”
