Townhouse development in Sault Ste Marie’s west end will feature a taller than usual fence for privacy.
Developer Pasquale Lento asked council to approve the rezoning of property at 412 Second Line West from single-detached residential to low-density residential.
Councillors did approve the rezoning with a condition being the construction of a six-foot fence along the east lot line and an eight-foot fence separating the development from the property at 232 Prentice Avenue.
A six-foot fence would be sufficient if not for an elevated deck in the backyard of 232 Prentice. This necessitates the building of a higher fence to create a visible barrier between the two properties.
Ward 5 Councillor Corey Gardi is hopeful this will be the only hiccup in this development project and no further conflicts will be forthcoming.
