The Soup Kitchen Community Centre’s “Food Bank Farm Project” is getting a financial boost courtesy of the COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund.
The $5,250 grant will help the group to meet COVID-19 food handling guidelines.
“The ECSF support will help us make improvements to ensure our volunteers have a safe and healthy work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Colin Templeton, Founder of the “Food Bank Farm Project.”
“The funding will also support efforts with cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and ensuring that produce is maintained at the peak of quality and freshness through the delivery process.”
The Emergency Community Support Fund was launched in May of this year to support organizations who are directly serving those hardest-hit by COVID-19.
“We appreciate the support during these challenging times,” Templeton adds.
