While children in Algoma were unable to attend Easter Seals camps in person this summer, a $1,300 grant from the COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund helped ensure they could attend virtually.
“Funding provided through the COVID-19 Community Support Fund enabled us to build a virtual camp program online so they could access activities, engage with guest speakers and most importantly connect with counsellors and other kids,” says Kevin J. Collins – President and CEO of Easter Seals Ontario. “Without this grant, they wouldn’t have had this opportunity.”
The project will now provide youth with a virtual option to traditional summer camps and will help Easter Seals in Algoma rebound from recent difficulties.
