A cash injection from the COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund will help Women In Crisis Algoma to create a warm, safe, and welcoming space for newcomer women. The $22,375 grant will go toward the Newcomer Women’s Café project.
“Newcomer Women’s Café aims to improve the mental, physical and emotional well-being of 20 refugee and vulnerable newcomer women in Algoma,” said Erin Lodge, Communications & Administration Coordinator for Women In Crisis Algoma. “It provides an environment where participants can gather and share with other women, develop their interests and abilities, and work on personal or group-based goals.”
The COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund provides financial assistance to organizations that are serving the most vulnerable people that have been hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
