Chippewa County COVID-19 Update

The Chippewa County Health Department is reporting a slight rise in COVID-19 cases.

As of the end of last week, the county reported 48 cumulative confirmed cases compared to 43 the previous week.

Lake Superior State University is still sitting at five confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, while the Sault Area School District has not announced any cases.

Last week, the department identified two possible exposure sites – Dondee Lanes Bowling Alley in the Sault and at Munoscong Golf Course.


  1. Our government is allowing some 80 Canadian students living in the SOO to cross back and forth at the border daily to attend classes at LSSU. Let’s hope they are better behaved than typical students.
