SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – A visit to Walmart on Great Northern Road showed empty racks where paper towel is usually stored.
Dino Bianco, Kruger Products CEO, which makes Sponge Towels says the demand has soared as people do to more cleaning.
“Toilet paper was the highlight of the COVID stay-at-home mandates but now we’re seeing the big use of paper towels,” said Bianco. “COVID doesn’t make you go to the bathroom more, but it does make you clean more.”
“Paper towel is the big watch out for us,” he added. “We’re trying to build our inventory but we’re very tight.”
Sault Online will be watching supplies levels closely as the second wave of COVID develops.
